PSM airfoils last long, cost less and interchange seamlessly with OEM components. Our current product line includes airfoils that are fully compatible with 6B (models through 6581), 7EA, 7FA/FA+e (models 7221, 7231 & 7241), and 501F systems through the FD2 model and selected FD3 components.
PSM airfoils are fully re-engineered to be completely compatible and address specific limitations in OEM designs. We maintain a unique development partnership with a leading power generation company that provides us with access to nearly 100 advanced gas turbines. This hands-on experience enables our engineers to systematically characterize and examine new, engine-run, repaired and failed airfoils. PSM engineers combine this knowledge with their expertise in industrial gas turbine, military aircraft engine and aerospace technology to create some of the industry's most advanced airfoils.
PSM routinely implements design changes that reduce stress levels in critical areas. We incorporate state-of-the-art cooling schemes and advanced airfoil coatings. And, in certain cases, we've introduced improved alloys that enhance resistance to creep, fatigue and corrosion. These innovations have earned our engineers more than 60 U.S. patents with additional patent applications pending in the U.S. Patent Office.
